Covered in the methodology of scientific research, the study objective was determined with the following statement: Demonstrate the degree of influence of the tools to learn grammar rules in the improvement of spelling in students of the English specialty of the Higher Pe- dagogical Institute " Marcos Duran Martel” Huánuco - 2020. The methods were: observation and experimental, the first to describe and explain the variables, events and situations perfectly identified and inserted in a theoretical context and the second to apply the independent variable on the dependent. Next, maintaining the coherence of the research, the type was formulated, the present study considered the experimental type, since it is planned to manipulate one variable to measure its effects on another, in order to determine the influence of the improvement of a variable on other. To establish the degree of influence we resort to the INFLUENCE INDEX technique, which yields the following result. The interval between the first dimension (Learning and practice of spelling stress rules) and the second (Learning and practice of the four essential spelling rules: use of B or V, R or RR, J or G and Z and S) is of 0.41 and of the third dimension (Learning and practice of diphthong and hiatus norms) of 0.74 Consequently we have in turn the field work, this is the collection of data and information reached the central conclusion that we immediately announce: The Influence index determines that the value of r = 0.41 and 0.74 are located in the interval of 0.40 ≤ r <0.80 and its interpretation establishes that there is a significant influence of the use of tools to learn grammar rules in the improvement spelling. Likewise, it was found that there is a significant influence of the tools to learn grammar rules in improving the learning of spelling stress rules, four essential spelling rules: use of B or V, R or RR, J or G and Z and S and norms of diphthong and hiatus.
