Abstract

Corn (Zea mays L.) is considered one of the most cultivated grasses in the world, also the demand for hard yellow corn in the Region, has increased remarkably during the last years, due to the growth of the poultry industry, propitiating the installation of larger areas, in this sense the objective of the present study was to evaluate the yield of yellow hard corn hybrids (Zea mays L.) under conditions of the Canchán Production, Research and Experimentation Center of the Hermilio Valdizán de Huánuco National Univers ity, located 10 km from the city, at the coordinates of 79 ° 11 '20 "W and 09 ° 58' 50" S and at a height of 2 020 m. located in the District of Kichqui, Province and Huánuco Region. The production center registered an average temperature of 19ºC, relative humidity of 64.22%, and average annual precipitation of 281.80 mm. The Design of Blocks Completely Random (DBCA) was used, consisting of 4 treatments (T1: SHX-7222; T2 : PM - 213; T 3: SHS-5070; T4: AGRI-144) distributed in 3 repetitions making a total of 12 experimental units. The results indicate the superiority of the hybrid PM -213 (T2) in terms of length and diameter of cobs averages of 17.63 cm and 5.50 cm were obtained, likewise it was superior to the other treatments in the highest average of ears of corn. Per floor with 1.37; and estimated yield per hectare of 13 518.75 kilograms.
