Philosophical causes of the failure of the first peruvian republican liberalism

The first liberalism of republican Peru developed mainly between 1822 and 1834. As a result of its activity, we have the liberal constitutions of the years 1823, 1828 and 1834. The balance of the work of our first republican liberals is negative. Although they left liberal constitutions, they did not translate into the conformation of a social and political reality corresponding to their ideal; on the contrary, the actions of its authors failed to prevent the nascent republic from sinking into chaos and anarchy, seriously compromising the future of the nation.
This presentation proposes, as a working hypothesis, some input for reflection that allows us to understand the reason for this negative balance. It may be due, we suggest, to the absence among our early republican politicians ―both liberal and conservative― of a sufficiently encompassing philosophical anthropology of the human variety that has characterized Peru in the last five hundred years, for not claiming that it has always characterized it.
Of course, such a philosophical anthropology that accounts for Peruvian man in his multifaceted dimensions ―debt that the national philosophy still has today― is not enough to understand the failure presented here. An audacious, unprecedented political project was also required, which ―in accordance with an anthropology such as the one we are missing― would make the Andean demographic and geographic reality the articulating axis of the living forces of our nation in the search and conformation of the ideal of the liberals of yesteryear: a just and promising homeland for all Peruvians.
